How to Stop Your Partner’s Intimidation
HOW TO STOP HUSBAND'S INTIMIDATION
5 steps to stop allowing your husband to intimidate you:
1.- Identify the source of the intimidation: Understanding the root cause (the "why") of the intimidation can help you develop strategies to deal with it.
2.- Set boundaries: Communicate your limits clearly and assertively to him, and stand by them.
("WHEN YOU YELL AT ME, I FEEL VERY UPSET. PLEASE, STOP!)
3.- Practice assertive communication: Speak up for yourself in a clear, confident, and respectful manner. Use "I" phrases.
("I DON'T ENJOY YOUR SILENT TREATMENT. SO STOP IT")
4.- Build confidence: Engage in activities and situations that help build your self-esteem and confidence, outside of the marriage.
5.- Seek support: Surround yourself with people who support and encourage you, and don't be afraid to seek professional help if necessary.
